CB Fabricating Specialized Manufacturing Capabilities Tapped for High-Profile Project
Anderson, Indiana manufacturer selected by Natare Corporation to work on one-of-a-kind Texas-shaped, stainless steel Lazy River at new luxury Marriott Marquis Houston built for Superbowl LI.
Anderson, Ind. – Central Indiana-based sheet metal fabricator CB Fabricating, Inc., recently completed work with aquatics structure and equipment manufacturer, Indianapolis-based Natare Corporation on a unique and high-profile project deep in the heart of Texas. Part of the Houston, Texas, hotel and convention center updates for the February 2017 Superbowl LI (51), the Texas-shaped Lazy River water feature is a highlight of the recently completed Marriott Marquis Houston.
Natare asked the local Anderson manufacturer to work with them to laser-cut and form dozens of types of unique and small-run stainless steel pieces of uniquely shaped Lazy River structure. The company was selected based on their strong history of providing Natare with outstanding service and delivering highly accurate and quality work products to the company’s exacting standards.
Says Brad Skillman, Natare Corporation executive, “It’s so refreshing to deal with a company who provides friendly, personal and responsive service with a quality emphasis!”
The 550-foot Lazy River project is a highly touted and visible component of the recently completed luxury hotel project the Marriott Marquis Houston. Located on the rooftop of the hotel’s parking garage, the Lazy River is formed entirely of stainless steel, a material that requires extreme care in handling and manufacturing to maintain its rust-free integrity.
Says Jim Carr, CB Fabricating’s in-house engineer, “Zero tolerance processes were followed to ensure that the stainless steel never came into contact with carbon steel. As a small shop that works with many types of metals, our team is experienced in handling each material and the equipment used to maintain the quality and integrity of the final work product.”
CB Fabricating completed the work to exacting specifications and met the critical scheduling and budget requirements needed to help the complex project make its highly anticipated opening in late 2016.
